In the July holidays of 2019, SBH Queensland will be running our first teen camp for clients with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, aged 14-17 years. Children’s camp is always such a hit that our clients and families have been asking for a teenage camp. We are super excited and planning is well under way.
The camp is likely to be held on the Gold Coast this year with a fun and action-packed theme. The camp will be staffed by therapists (occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech pathologists) nurses, social workers, teachers and volunteers. Our camps provide a unique opportunity for students to get together with peers who have shared similar experiences, to learn from each other, challenge themselves by trying new things in a safe and supportive environment and to work on some personal goals in relation to independence, both physical and emotional.
