SBH Queensland provides information, advice, support and services to improve the lives of children and adults with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
Our 23 staff provide information, therapy, social work, and school support to 700 children and adults with spina bifida and hydrocephalus throughout Queensland.
We do not provide medical advice. Please see your own General Practitioner if you are having medical problems.
Our Mission Statement:
Our mission is to enrich the lives and well-being of people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
To achieve this, we provide high quality client–led support to individuals, families and carers by way of information, family support, therapy and teaching services.
We do this by:
- Provide information about and services specific to spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus
- Empower people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus to achieve their full potential
- Promote the value of people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus
- Strive for excellence in the development and provision of programs to people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus
Our Statement of Values:
SBH Queensland (the Association) believes in people’s worth and ability and supports the empowerment of individuals in maintaining a proactive, visionary future for themselves with dignity and mutual respect.
This, we believe, can be achieved with flexibility, reliability, and empathy on the part of the association and its clients in a culture where people support and learn from each other.
